Questions to Ask Your Installer Before Choosing A Ceramic Coating Service
1.) Are you certified to install this coating? There are quite a few “consumer grade” ceramic coatings on the market that don’t come with any sort of manufacturer’s warranty and that anyone has access to. This means that if you get a ceramic coating service performed by someone who doesn’t have a certification, there is no recourse through the manufacturer if the coating doesn’t live up to the detailer’s claim. At Apex, we are System X Ceramic Protection certified so all of our hand-applied ceramic coatings come with a manufacturer’s & workmanship warranty and go on the vehicle’s CarFax.
2.) How long will my ceramic coating last? Ceramic coating longevity varies quite a bit, with spray/wash ceramic coatings lasting 3-6 months while professional grade, high concentration SiO2/TiO2 coatings can be permanent and last 10+ years with properly maintenance. Lesson being: Don’t spend a lot of money for a coating that won’t last.
3.) Will this ceramic coating service truly add value to my vehicle? A lot of ceramic coating companies have professional grade products, but don’t truly add any sort quantifiable value to the vehicle’s worth. Since we are partnered with System X, all hand-applied ceramic coatings are registered via the vehicle’s VIN and automatically added to the CarFax and will add quantifiable value depending on the ceramic coating package chosen.
